Let's travel through 3D or 360 videos!
Hello again,
Today, I am going to talk about an assignment that we have done with 2 of my friends: Bilal Yaktıyol and Yusuf Eren Tunç. This time, we have introduced a city abroad to our students. Honestly, we wanted to introduce Paris because there were a lot of sources of 3d and 360 videos. But then, we decided on Cairo, Egypt. The reason for this is that we will visit Cairo in February. Link for our material: CAIRO
We based our lesson plan based on ASSURE model: ASSURE
Anyway, let me introduce our material based on AR/VR. So, we first introduced two important landmarks which are the pyramids and the Sphinx. We briefly explained them and added Qr codes for students to scan them and analyze them. After that, we directed some engaging and interactive questions for students. Then we have selected a museum and did the same procedure there again, with a code to scan, a brief information and some engaging questions to answer. Additionally, we have added 3 famous food and their recipes through videos and more landmarks to visit. At the end of the class, we wanted our students to choose one of the other cities in Egypt and explore the city through 3d and 360 videos and write a letter to a friend pretending that they have visited the city and have to write a guide for their friend where to visit and what to do in the city. All in all, exploring a city using 3D and 360 videos, especially a city that we really plan to visit, was awesome and fun. we enjoyed so much that even if our lecturer said that we need to add 2 landmarks, 1 museum and additionally food or festivals, we added over 10 different items. That was one of the most fabulous acitivities, but the flipped learning video is on top for sure. Anyway, I hope you have a great Christmas and new year, see you all next year (I had to make this joke, sorry).
